For thirty-three minutes, the pummeling drone of drums, bass, and hurdy gurdy induce a musical semantic satiation as the cultish repetitive stomp and cyclical swirls dissociate from a rhythmic arrangement and mutate into a syrupy cyclone of auditory illusions. Quickly accelerating into a sonic no-man’s land, the mystic french trio France’s latest ritual Far-Out Far-West is cut from one of the band’s earliest performances from a 2008 show in Bordeaux where the band assumed their usual stage plot in the middle of the crowd turned in to face each other.
