Nearly two years since releasing Living Water, Shannon Lay’s debut record and pioneering work for Mare Records, the Los Angeles psych-folk songwriter presents “Nowhere” from her upcoming sophomore record and first on Sub Pop, August. The track arrives with a self-directed music video starring Lay with her trademark tangerine locks standing against fluttering, light-leaking film frames of busy California highway and bloomed flowers; apropos scenes for her expansive psychedelic folk.
