Self-Portrait: The Nude Party
For our Self-Portrait series, we invite our favorite musicians to create an audio depiction of themselves through songs from the past and present.
For the last decade, The Nude Party have been on a steady course forging a worthy and hard-earned career in rock and roll. Through their inextinguishable charisma, the septet has honed their sound and live show into a bona fide indie juggernaut with multi-album record deals, tours around the globe, and confluence with legends of the scene. Three records in, their latest, Rides On, hits the bullseye of their 70s-minded bluesy country rock target. For the Self-Portrait series, the dudes hand off a deep dive of inspirations and ingredients that contribute to their sound.
“This playlist represents many of the early sonic inspirations we had in common as friends while we attempted to create our own music. Ranging from certified garage rock gold, British Invasion rippers, to more mellow cosmic country grooves, these were and still are many of the musicians we love. Blending these genres and then distilling them through the filter of seven different musicians with their own styles of playing is generally the recipe for a Nude Party record.”
