For Dr. Dog frontman Scott McMicken’s new venture, The Ever-Expanding, a superior cast of trustees was assembled from players in the camps of Cotton Jones, Kevin Morby, Elvis Perkins and Hether for the recording session for Shabang, a downhome family-band safari through the spectrum of his soulful and scuffed-up songwriting vision.
