Dawit Yifru- S/T

An upcoming compilation from a new label Muzikawi culls eleven exceptional instrumentals from the cassette tape archives of Ethiopian jazzer Dawit Yifru. Similar to the legendary Hailu Mergia but with more violin, Yifru’s warm and grainy recordings link the different musical styles that were emerging in 1970s Ethiopia.
