For our Self-Portrait series, we invite our favorite musicians to create an audio depiction of themselves through songs from the past and present.

Iranian-American singer-songwriter Rahill Jamalifard specializes in creating singular sounding avant-pop music from her deep global musical fascinations and profound first-generation life experiences. Such influences are held within her solo debut record Flowers At Your Feet, a gripping and intricate scrapbook of sounds and poetry. Rahill presents a sprawling mixture of inspirations from her latest work with her Self-Portrait playlist.

“I donno what threads the music that inspires me together, there's never been a common denominator, in life I tend to always have my hands in different things, and I think that applies to the genreless pursuit and love for the music I listen to and make. These are artists whose songs move and inspire me and have long stuck with me through chapters of my life.”
