Sharp Pins is the side gig of Kai Slater, guitarist of Chicago-based Matador Records band Lifeguard and curator of the killer DIY art zine Hallogallo. Earlier this year came Turtle Rock, an endearing and saw-toothed portastudio-recorded cassette that’s on par with some of the classic early entries on Matador.
