Flying high off the back of his 1979 masterpiece Lubbock (on everything), Texas icon Terry Allen, aided and abetted by a ferocious new squad, the Panhandle Mystery Band, discharged a pernicious, hard-riding follow-up with Smokin the Dummy, a long-out-of-print record that’ll be remastered and reissued thanks to the preservationists at Paradise of Bachelors that comes with new photos, original notes, and alternate artwork.
