Celebrating the vernal equinox, Los Angeles’ mystifying musical ensemble Monde UFO have shared “Lowered Shelf,” the newest track from an upcoming debut of their distinct musical universe held together by the gravities of extraterrestrial psych folk, ambient New Age, Don Cherry’s worldly jazz, and the simplicity and innocence of primitive cassette rock from the early 1980s. Beginning in a warehouse practice space in LA’s Skid Row, songwriter Ray Monde has since proliferated the one-man band into a virtuous mixture of hi-fi recorded nomadic pop.
