Widowspeak- Plum

Since 2011, Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas have fostered a dense musical partnership as Widowspeak that reaches its zenith on their newest record Plum, their fifth LP with Captured Tracks. The record, written and recorded pre-Covid and laid down with audio wizard Sam Evian at his Flying Cloud studio in the Catskills, is a lighter hued and tonally cloudless affair than earlier works but undeniably austere in its writing; engaging with notions of financial strain, “crisis of meaning,” and the ever-evolving value of artistic output.
