The Black Music Tee (2nd Edition) by New Commute x Rosa Unearthly Goods

Two weeks ago, New Commute and Rosa Unearthly Goods shared the Black Music Tee, a collaborative garment dedicated to a few of the countless African-American icons at the origin of nearly all of today’s modern music. In just under three days, the presale sold over 500 shirts totaling $12,500 in donations from the profits of the shirt which will be made to The Loveland Foundation and The Movement For Black Lives. Originally, we advertised that we would be supporting Black Visions Collective, but due to overwhelming donation volumes, Black Visions Collective began referring potential donors to other organizations in need of extra funding. Therefor, we decided The Movement For Black Lives’ mission statement aligned with our desire to support an organization that advocates, campaigns, and provides resources for black communities across America. Our unbelievably wonderful printer, The Print Hub, is working tirelessly to finish our order at the moment and once our two-man team has the shipping fees calculated, we will share receipts from our donations, $6,250 to each organization. We thank each and every person who bought or shared the tee to make the project an unbelievable success and appreciate your patience.

With a short presale period and some high-caliber promotion after the presale window had closed, we received a flood of people interested in supporting the project after shirt orders were no longer being taken. We wanted to try our best to reach as many people interested in contributing to the project, so we decided a 2nd edition would be the best way for us to make that happen.

For the next week, we will have the Black Music Tee 2nd Edition available for presale from the Rosa Unearthly Goods site and screen-printed with care by The Print Hub with 100% of all profits donated to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, an organization that protects and defends the human rights of black transgender people by organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, developing transformative leadership, and promoting their collective power, and Color Of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization that move decision-makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people in America.

Presale ends on Wednesday, June 24th. Please allow 2-3 weeks to ship.
