As a builder of one-of-a-kind stringed instruments, Eaton considered the full life cycle of each material used to build his 6-string, 12-string, or 26-string wooden apparatus preserving the heritage of the timber from seedling to raw wood through eighteen untitled autobiographical pastoral instrumental pieces.
