Other Music Documentary

Today marks the virtual release of the documentary Other Music about the immeasurably influential NYC record store that was vital to the city’s 2000s indie music scene admired as a space for underground and experimental music to subsist and for supporting the pivotal early moments in the careers of Vampire Weekend, Animal Collective, Sharon Van Etten, Yo La Tengo, and countless others.

The documentary is available to rent only through the websites of independent record stores who will receive half of the proceeds. We’re asking our readers to support a store we love, Harvest Records in Asheville, NC. You can purchase the stream from them directly right here.

Also, if you rent this anytime before the April 22nd closing of the third raffle in our New Commute Cancelled Tours Project, we’ll count it as a double entry! Details here.
