New Commute Cancelled Tours Project // Pt. 2

Thank you to everyone who participated in the last raffle, the first for our New Commute Cancelled Tours Project. It’s been one week (say that one back in your best Ed Robertson voice) since we launched the initiative and the toll on the music community continues to grow as statewide mandated quarantines and shelter-in-place orders force festival cancellations, tour reschedings, and album release dilemmas. Through virtual concerts, we’ve been able to stay in touch with some of our favorite performers, but the digital tip jar hardly pays the bills.

For so many people, funds remain low or non-existent, but some are fortunate enough to still have a consistent paycheck. For those with the means, it’s never been more vital that your commitment to supporting the music community remains strong. We’re asking those who can to keep buying albums from your favorite artists and labels, buy stuff from local record stores if they’re open and buy gift cards if they’re not open to the public, buy art books and posters, commission artists, and pay attention to those pushing through with the releases of new albums and music videos. Every little bit counts.

We’re all hunkered down together and will come out of our bunkers with a newfound appreciation for the arts, live music, and community.
