Cuttings is the new record from Massachusetts’ dubby, roots-reggae instrumental outfit Flying Vipers whose work is indebted to the Jamaican engineers of the 70s who pioneered the heady sounds of dub. Recorded and mixed on a cassette 8-track deck, Cuttings has a bubbly bass groove with a tape hiss and loopy warble that would make you believe this was a lost relic from the dawn of the genre.
