Though critically, Beatles For Sale is considered the edgier and angrier Beatles record of the bubblegum era, David Nance's strung-out reinvention of the 1964 album takes the Fab Four to a gloomy dimension their black turtlenecks never explored. Fuzzy guitar screeches and morphine-drip vocals lobotomize the classic record into a new, stoned and scuzzy headspace.
