Amen Dunes' new record Freedom is out today via Sacred Bones. Damon McMahon's symbolic vibrato vocalization and profound songwriting sagacity returns for the strongest of his five records. Though Freedom is an expansion on the darker and lonelier spirit heard on earlier Amen Dunes material, McMahon preserves his underlying outsider bend while yielding an LP slated for mass appeal unlike anything in his back catalog.
