Premiere // Billy the Kid- Anything & Everything

Billy Aukstik, founder of Dala Records, has just announced his solo debut, The Stay Strong EP. Aukstik's funky stylings have been fine-tuned from six years on the road performing with Charles Bradley, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Antibalas, The Budos Band, Lee Fields & The Expressions, Mark Ronson, and many others. Stay Strong was recorded over a two year period between a DIY space in Manhattan armed with only a Tascam 388 8-track tape machine and later in Aukstik's new self-built studio, Hive Mind Recording, in Bushwick.

The first single from The Stay Strong EP is "Anything & Everything" that roll-calls across a vintage drum machine backbeat loop with a classic-sounding horn line feeding into a vertigo-inducing, twisting guitar lead transplanting your senses to a smoke-filled 1970s studio with every snap-crackle of the room being dumped beautifully to tape.
