Hiroshi Sato- Orient (1979 Reissue)

This February, the Parisian red-letter audio archivalists at WEWANTSOUNDS will reissue the ultra-rare neo-funk masterpiece Orient by Japanese multi-instrumentalist and producer Hiroshi Sato from the original tapes recorded in 1979. Sato's experimental synth-pop ballads have the quirk and exotic groove that attracts listeners to contemporaries like Shintaro Sakamoto transitioning from synth- funk numbers to breezy, daydreamy pieces layered with vintage synthesizer pad iridescence.
