Khruangbin- Con Todo El Mundo

Though only two albums deep, the Texas trio Khruangbin have exhibited a mastery of conceptual sonic imagination creating an unmistakable milieu of cultural amalgamation of Thai, South Asia and Middle Eastern psychedelic and funk. The group's latest full-length is titled from bassist Laura Lee's response to her grandfather's endearing inquiry "Como me quieres?" (How much do you love me?) of which she would reply "Con todo el mundo" (With all the world).

The slow-burn zest of Con Todo El Mundo is kindled by the electric guitar vorticity and groovy backbeat hinged on the synthesis of multinational boogies. The record swells with upbeat Saharan timbre on "Maria Tambien" and cassette-tape dance-floor heatwave "Evan Finds The Third Room" with a steady, sauntering rhythm on "August 10" and the supremely tonic closer "Friday Morning."

Con Todo El Mundo is out Friday, January 26 on Dead Oceans. Find Khruangbin's tour dates here.
